We live in a world surrounded by thousands(millions, billions) of humans. When we go outside we have the opportunity to see a new human, one in which, we have never seen before, every single day. Yet, so many of us are standing in this world feeling alone. You can be in a room full of people and feel alone or isolated. Left out or indifferent.
There are people in this world who do not understand that feeling. The feeling of loneliness that slowly begins to haunt you. That challenges your emotions and your energy. It drains them. Sadness creeps in. And some times anger. Emotions that are perfectly valid, yet unacceptable in the eyes of society. But why are they unacceptable? Why is it so wrong to be sad? To be hurt? To be angry? Is it that these emotions are wrong or the behavior in which one chooses to express their anger or sadness may be unhealthy to them and/or others?
What is wrong with going to a mountain top or the middle of the woods and screaming as loud as you can? Do you deem this acceptable in society?
Asking for help may categorize you in the eyes of society. It may label you as mentally ill, in which people will hear unstable, weak, crazy. The stigma it carries is the reason so many people do not seek guidance and support. And when one does finally get the courage and the strength to express their emotions- that are so valid, they cannot afford it. The service providers are not accepting their insurance. The financial challenge of paying for these services puts a damper on the courage and strength they have to seek support and fall deeper down into this unhealthy emotion. This sorrow, this pain, this loneliness.
I want you to know you are not alone. I can hear you without you saying a word. I can feel your energy. Your emotion. I can feel your challenges and see your fight. I may not have hit the same pot holes you have on your road in life, but I have hit enough to know that no one should ever feel the pain, the sadness, the darkness that a mental illness can bring to a human being. Life is hard. It is a rollercoaster of emotions, events and experiences that will try to break you. And sometimes they will shatter you into the smallest pieces and when you begin putting them back together a few may be missing, but you will be stronger. You will only gain strength to battle this fight called life. The life that you deserve. The life full of love, happiness and good health. Success too, but that will come with love and happiness. The healthier you are, the stronger you physically will be and that will also bring opportunity.
Be kind to yourself. Show empathy towards others. And remember, you are never alone.
