Before I say something I may regret, which very likely won't happen because I have learned self control, something unfortunately, our society as a whole lacks!!!! ---- I have to remind everyone who may see this----STOP!!!!! Stay in control, take a deep breath, observe your thoughts and feelings and proceed mindfully! Think before you speak and think before you post!!
The night our community learned that Christina Spicuzza was missing, after picking up an Uber fare. Her car was later found in Pitcairn on fourth street Saturday morning and then her body on rosecrest near the 500 block. The same block I ran as a child. My mom has always been a community mom, that's how I met the spicuzza family and it wasn't long before we all considered each other family. My heart hurts. There are no words.
But I don't want to be scared anymore. Scared of this dark world that continues to rob us and fill us with pain. We are the change. We are the only ones who can make light. And that's exactly what I plan to do.
Our communities need to come together now more than ever. Rally together to end the mental health stigma because guess what, we are mentally ill and chances are it makes sense!!! Trauma is all around us and it is only getting worse. We need to do better. We need empathy. We need kindness. We need to think before we speak and post. It's hurting me so badly to see all these posts. If you do not see me on, know I will be okay, but my heart can't keep seeing "the Uber girl." She is, was and will always be Christina Spicuzza. A beautiful, talented mother and wife. A daughter and a sister. A niece, cousin and a friend. A pure, genuine human who loved to make a difference. Her story isn't over---say her name!!!! Christina Spicuzza!!!!!
